1960 - In 1966 Ralph Baer had an idea to play games on your very own television, that year he decided to start writing ideas down and this ended up being the bases of his game development, In 1967 Ralph developed the 'Brown Box'. This was a console prototype which allowed people to play tennis and other games. In 1968 he patented his television game and 4 years later he released the Magnavox Odyssey.

2010 - in 2010 Sony combined the unsold PlayStation 2 consoles and their outdated TVs and created a new device known as the Sony Bravia. Between 2010 and 2015 there were 3 versions of Sony Bravia released to the public each version included many updates and new features. In 2013 the Ouya was released to the public but due to a lot of performance issues and the lack of video games for the micro console it was discontinued in 2015 and the software used in this were bought by Razer.

Here are some limitations of TV Gaming:
- The games aren't as good graphics as console and PC
- To play along requires a smart phone or tables and not everyone has these devices to participate
- Users normally have to pay to play the games, this is a little like arcade games
